Booking Terms & Conditions

Our Agreement

All reservations are made through licensed franchisees in Tanzania, Kenya, or Uganda operating under the name Hooray Safaris, you are bound by the following Booking Terms & Conditions. Upon receipt of your booking confirmation, a valid contract is formed between you and Hooray Safaris, with the confirmed services as listed in the invoice.

Reservation Validity

Your reservation becomes valid only after receiving the booking confirmation, which will be issued upon receipt of payment.

Deposit Requirement

To confirm your booking, a deposit is necessary, with varying amounts depending on the chosen trip.

Acceptance and Final Payments

Upon acceptance of your booking, a contract is established, and final payment details are specified in your confirmation. The trip’s total cost must be settled before the departure date, and failure to do so may result in the cancellation of your reservation.

Prices and Surcharges

Our trip prices are subject to seasonal and market variations. Prices may change based on demand and availability. A deposit payment locks in the quoted price. Any lower prices or discounts that occur after the deposit payment will not apply. We may impose surcharges due to exchange rate fluctuations, transportation cost increases, or government actions, with any surcharge exceeding 10% allowing you to cancel your booking and receive a full refund within 14 days of being notified of the surcharge.

 Your details

To confirm your travel arrangements, you must provide requested details and pay the balance. These details includes, but are not limited to, your full name as it appears on your passport, date of birth, nationality, passport number, passport issue and expiry date, and any pre-existing medical conditions that may affect your ability to complete your travel arrangements. On some of our more difficult trips, you must also complete and submit a Self-Assessment form. Failure to do so may result in additional charges or non-refundable cancellations.

Health requirements

We are not medical professionals. Ensure your physical fitness for the trip and seek up-to-date medical advice for your destination’s health requirements. We are not liable for any consequences resulting from insufficient health preparations.

Group Joining Adventures

Provided that the minimum group size does not indicate otherwise, our trips are assured to proceed with just one fully paid traveler. Consequently, some groups may occasionally consist of a smaller number of travelers. A number of our trips are intentionally structured to be amalgamated with other departures, forming extended “combination” trips. This implies that certain members of your group might have already been traveling together for several weeks before your trip commences. If you wish to ascertain the number of people booked on your trip or any associated combination trip, kindly inquire before making your reservation.

Travel insurance

We highly recommend all our guests to obtain travel insurance at the time of booking. Your travel insurance should encompass personal accident, death, medical expenses, and emergency repatriation, with a suggested minimum coverage of US $200,000 for each category. Additionally, we strongly advise you to include coverage for cancellation, curtailment, personal liability, as well as loss of luggage and personal effects.


You understand and value that this form of travel requires significant adaptability and you should be prepared for possible alternatives. The itinerary given for each trip is a reflection of the considered activities, but you acknowledge that the route, schedules, amenities, and mode of transportation may be subject to change without prior notice due to local circumstances or events.

Change of itinerary

While we strive to adhere to the advertised trip itinerary, we retain the right to modify it at our discretion. To stay informed about the latest updates, please visit our website before commencing your journey.

Before departure: In the event of a significant change that affects at least one-fifth of the itinerary days, we will inform you as soon as possible, given sufficient time. When such a major change occurs, you have the choice to accept the alteration, receive a refund for the land portion of the trip only, or opt for an alternative offered tour.

After departure: We maintain the authority to adjust the itinerary due to unforeseen local circumstances or events beyond our control. Should emergency situations necessitate itinerary changes, you will be responsible for any additional costs incurred. Please note that we are not liable for any incidental expenses resulting from itinerary modifications, such as visas, vaccinations, or non-refundable flights.

Authority on tour

The group trips are supervised by a designated leader, and their decisions concerning the safety and well-being of all participants are conclusive. Should you disregard a group leader’s decision or disrupt the welfare and movement of the group, you may be asked to leave the trip immediately without any entitlement to a refund. Additionally, we reserve the right to exclude you from participating in any future trips. It is essential to adhere to the laws, customs, foreign exchange, and drug regulations of the countries visited, and also to comply with our responsible travel guidelines.

Acceptance of risk

We recognize that the nature of the trip is adventurous and involves some personal risk. The places you will visit have heightened political, cultural, and geographical challenges compared to our daily lives. We carefully evaluate whether the itinerary should proceed by considering information from government foreign departments and reports from our contacts. However, it is your responsibility to acquaint yourself with all pertinent travel information and understand the nature of your itinerary. By choosing to travel, you acknowledge that your decision is based on this information, and you willingly accept the personal risks associated with such a journey.

Limitation of liability

We shall not be held responsible for any damage or loss in cases where the failure to fulfill the contract is caused by the following:

  • Situations for which you are accountable
  • Events caused by a third party unrelated to the provision of contracted services, and such occurrences are unforeseeable or unavoidable
  • Circumstances those are unforeseen and extraordinary, beyond our control, and whose consequences could not have been avoided even with utmost care
  • Events resulting from political disputes, border closures, visa denials, labor strikes, adverse weather conditions, or similar issues, as well as any other force majeure events
  • Events that, despite the Company’s best efforts could not have been foreseen or prevented.
  1. Optional activities

Any optional activities not covered by the trip price are not part of the trip or the associated contract. You acknowledge that any help offered by your group leader or local representative in arranging such optional activities does not hold us responsible in any manner. The contractual agreement for those activities will solely be between you and the activity provider.

Claims & complaints

In case you encounter any issues during your trip, kindly inform your group leader or our local representative promptly, allowing them to address the matter. Should you feel dissatisfied despite their efforts, please submit any additional complaints in writing to us within 30 days after the tour ends.


Any dispute arising under or in connection with this Agreement will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Tanzania, Kenya, or Uganda, depending on where the tour began.


In the event that any term or condition within these Booking Conditions is considered unenforceable or void due to the operation of law, being against public policy, or for any other reason, that particular term or condition shall be removed from this contract or adjusted as needed to ensure that all remaining terms and conditions remain valid and binding.

Photos and marketing

By participating in the trip, you consent to the use of images featuring you for advertising and promotional endeavors across any suitable platform. You hereby provide us with an everlasting, royalty-free, global, and irrevocable license to employ these images for promotional and publicity intentions.

Privacy policy

We may utilize any personal information we gather from you for purposes related to the Trip’s operation or to provide you with marketing materials concerning our events and special offers. To ensure the Trip’s functioning, we may share this information with our agents, service providers, or other suppliers. Rest assured that we will handle your data in accordance with our privacy policy.
